Frequently asked questions for Lake Lewisville boat rentals

What do I need to bring for my boat rental on Lewisville Lake?

Your designated driver is required to have valid identification and proof of boater safety education from the State of Texas (if born after September 1, 1993). Consider bringing comfortable footwear, towels, sunscreen, glasses, drinks, snacks, and water toys. If you don’t have any of those things, our ship store is fully ready to provide it, along with your requisite ice cream and Cottonwood Creek Marina hats and t-shirts. We provide you with a full tank of gas and all necessary safety equipment. 

What are the expectations of a boat rental customer? 

Customers are expected to maintain a clean vessel and return the vessel at the appropriate rental end time. Customers should abide by on-water navigational best practices, which you can review in the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department’s “Boating Safety Tips.” Our pontoons and tritoons are completely fueled for you before you get here, and gas is included in your rental price.

What are your prices? – Boats are available starting at four-hour rentals.  See our “Rates and Reservations” page for hourly rates and additional info.  Reservations can be made online, by phone or in person. We include a full tank of gas in all boat rentals!

Do you offer any discounts? 

We offer 10 percent off on any rental on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday (holidays excluded). We offer five percent off on all rentals to those who have served in the armed forces (with proof of service).

Do rates change on the holidays? 

Holiday weekend prices and minimum hour requirements may be different from our regular rates.  Please see our “Rates and Reservations” page or call for details.

Is gas included in my boat rental? 

Yes! You’ll get a full tank at the beginning of your rental, and if you are running low, we will top you off at no additional cost to you.  You can return it on “E” with no additional charge as well.

Do you carry skis, tubes, kneeboards and wakeboards?

We have them all. Prices can be found on the Water Toys page. They range from $30 to $50 per item for the rental period. Please let us know at the time of your reservation so that we can ensure that we have them reserved for you.

Is fishing allowed on my pontoon or tritoon rental? 

Absolutely. We encourage fishing. We do not have fishing licenses, tackle or bait available at the marina, so come prepared.

Food and beverage?

Food and beverages are welcome on the boats. Bring your own coolers. We have ice, snacks and non-alcoholic beverages available at the ship store. Please do not bring glass bottles on the boats.

Do you have captains for hire for your boat rentals on Lewisville Lake?

We do not offer captains for boats.

What is your cancellation policy? 

If a reservation is canceled 48 hours in advance (seven days for holiday weekends), the rental amount can be applied at a later date within the same season. Within the 48-hour period, the renter is responsible for the entire reservation amount and cannot reschedule. No cash refunds are available.

Do you offer a “bad weather” cancellation? 

If inclement weather (high winds, heavy rain or lightning) causes Cottonwood Creek Boat Rental to close for the day, renters with reservations will be notified as soon as possible. The renters will be given a rain check for the full amount of the rental that will be good through the end of the season.
